Britain’s Biggest Reality Shows Strictly Come Dancing and I’m A Celebrity Get, Me Out of Here Set For Stateside SVOD Debuts

New York, NY – BritBox, the digital video streaming subscription channel from BBC Worldwide and ITV offering the largest collection of British TV in the U.S., announced its inaugural fall lineup today. Featuring a mix of new and returning series, many of the new additions will premiere Stateside shortly after their UK premiere.

The highlight of the fall schedule is a critically-acclaimed new drama from one of the UK’s most recognized actors, Sean Bean (Game of Thrones). Bean stars alongside Anna Friel (Pushing Daisies) and Paula Malcomson (Ray Donovan) in Broken as Father Michael Kerrigan, a Catholic Priest in Northern England battling his own secret struggles. The drama comes from acclaimed screenwriter and producer Jimmy McGovern (Accused, The Street).

Kicking off and underpinning fall is British favorite Cold Feet, the 2017 series is produced in association with Big Talk Productions, ITV and BritBox US, who are the exclusive partner. This latest outing of the much loved hit returns with an ensemble cast led by James Nesbitt (The Hobbit). This season also features a Downton Abbey cast reunion with Siobhan Finneran joining Robert Bathurst and the rest of the gang as they search for love and make their way through life with all its tears and joy.

BritBox will also become the exclusive U.S. home to Five By Five, a special featuring five short films created by and starring Golden Globe winner Idris Elba (Luther).  All set in London, the short films feature new writers who highlight new on-screen talent that work alongside established names.  The story centers around teenager Ash (Michael Ajao) who has a chance encounter that leads him to make a dangerous decision starting a chain reaction that plays out across the five connected shorts.

In addition BritBox will be the US home to the new season of popular sci-fi satire Red Dwarf and for the first time on U.S. streaming, dance competition giant Strictly Come Dancing – the show that led to the American sensation Dancing with the Stars. The network has also acquired the rights to the new season of popular UK reality show I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here. Both programs will be available under BritBox’s “Now” section not long after their original UK airings.

“BritBox is the ultimate destination for fans looking to get their British TV fix,” said BritBox President, Soumya Sriraman. “What really sets our service apart is the ability to give our audience many of the same great shows UK viewers get to see, in many cases a day after they air across the pond. The new programs we are adding range from exclusive, edge-of-your-seat dramas to beloved reality shows, ensuring BritBox has plenty of hours of content that will appeal to all British TV lovers.”
