hoopla digital adds world-renowned BBC Studios programs

Popular BBC TV shows, miniseries, and made-for-tv movies now available for digital rental on category-creating digital service for public libraries

Holland, OH – hoopla digital (hoopladigital.com), the category-creating digital service for public libraries, today announced an agreement with BBC Studios to bring over 800 episodes of treasured scripted content featuring great British talent such as Benedict Cumberbatch, Judi Dench, David Tennant, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Emma Thompson, to its service. Several BBC favorites are now available for public library patrons across the U.S. and Canada to borrow and view on their smartphones, tablets and computers through hoopla’s web site and mobile app.

Over 45 titles are now available on hoopla digital, including signature classics Robin Hood, Absolutely Fabulous, Inspector Lynley, Upstairs Downstairs and Waking the Dead. hoopla is also adding Silk to the service, with the first two seasons exclusively available to library patrons via hoopla digital. More BBC series will be available on hoopla digital later in the month, including episodes of currently airing series Silent Witness and Call the Midwife.

The BBC titles will join hoopla digital’s collection of more than 750,000 eBooks, audiobooks, comics, albums, movies and television shows. The titles on hoopla can be accessed across a range of platforms including Android TV, Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire, and Chromecast.
