New York, NY – BBC Worldwide North America announced today the appointment of Chris Cole as SVP TV Co-productions and Sales, Factual, BBC Worldwide North America.  His appointment is effective November 4.

Cole will be responsible for developing and driving strategic business growth for BBC Worldwide Factual content in the U.S. including sales, co-productions and front list SVOD.

“As an Emmy Award winning, creative content developer and former programming commissioner, Chris’ intimate knowledge of factual genre programming and strong commercial sensibility – in both the US and U.K markets – make him the perfect person to emphasize BBC Worldwide’s in-depth slate of factual content stateside,” commented Matt Forde, EVP BBC Worldwide North America, Sales and Co-productions.

Prior to joining BBC Worldwide North America, Chris was overseeing 30 hours of content for both BBC One and BBC TWO. As former Director of Development, Chris spent many years leading innovation and creativity in the development of new ideas.  Most recently he served as part of the BBC’s commissioning team, working with both in-house and independent productions in the U.S and the UK to develop and deliver around 35 hours of Science and Natural History projects across the BBC’s channels.  For three years, Chris has helmed the multi-award winning Natural World strand.
