True Crime Series From Producers Of Worldwide Hit, Bodyguard, Comes Based On Wales’ Most Infamous Serial Killer
New York, NY — BritBox, the North American subscription service from BBC Studios & ITV offering the biggest streaming collection of British TV, announced today it will come on board as a co-producer on The Pembrokeshire Murders with parent company ITV. The true crime limited series starring Luke Evans (Fate of the Furious, Beauty and the Beast) focuses on historic cold cases in Pembrokeshire, Wales.
Distributed by BritBox in the U.S. and Canada, written by Nick Stevens (In Plain Sight), and executive produced by Simon Heath (Bodyguard, Line of Duty) at World Productions the series explores the groundbreaking methods used by Detective Superintendent Steve Wilkins and his team that set the standard for future cold case investigations.
Evans will star as Wilkins, the senior investigating officer who reopened two seemingly unlinked 1980s double murder cases. The drama is based on ‘Catching the Bullseye Killer’, the factual account Wilkins wrote with ITV journalist Jonathan Hill.
“With a strong cast and suspenseful writing, The Pembrokeshire Murders is a perfect combination of classic crime drama and modern storytelling that is a perfect fit for BritBox,” said BritBox President and CEO Soumya Sriraman.
This title adds to BritBox’s slate of originals including Mum starring Lesley Manville, There She Goes starring David Tennant, The Bletchley Circle: San Francisco with Rachael Stirling and upcoming premieres, The Mallorca Files, (debuting this spring), and Sister Boniface, the Father Brown spinoff which premieres later this year.
BritBox is available for $6.99 per month—after an introductory free trial period—on Roku®, Apple TV 4th Gen, Samsung, and all iOS and Android devices, AirPlay, Chromecast, and online at www.britbox.com.
