New York, NY – Today at MIPCOM, BritBox, the subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) streaming service from BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC, and ITV, the UK’s biggest commercial broadcaster, announced its first ever third party deal to bring content from media giant FremantleMedia International to the service starting this month. Through this deal, BritBox, which launched earlier this year, continues to be the biggest collection of streaming British television in the U.S.

Kicking off the new programming in the “Now” category, spotlighting shows available as soon as 24 hours after their UK broadcast:

• QI, part razor sharp comedy, part trivia quiz show, QI features contestants rewarded more for “quite interesting” answers than accurate ones. Host Sandi Toksvig (Great British Baking Show) is joined each week by beloved British comedian Alan Davies and three celebrity guests to share anecdotes, swap trivia, and maybe answer some questions as well. QI will join the BritBox roster starting on October 20^th with the first episode from its newest season and all episodes of the previous season. Subsequent new episodes will post each week.

• The hugely popular factual property series Escape to the Country, which will soon begin its 25^th season, is comprised of 70 hour-long episodes. The series shines a light on different regions of the UK and helps genuine house buyers who want to escape town or city living to find their ideal home and achieve their ambition of enjoying a completely new.

The deal will also include award-winning series Merlin, starring Oscar® nominee John Hurt (Doctor Who, Harry Potter), Colin Morgan (The Huntsman: Winter’s War, The Fall), and Katie McGrath (Supergirl, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword), as well as new programs, like critically acclaimed feature drama Against The Law. Daniel Mays (Rogue One), Richard Gadd (Tripped), and Mark Gatiss (Sherlock) star in this 90- minute docudrama centered around the infamous Montagu Trial – one of the most explosive court cases of the 1950s.
