Britbox Award Winning Original Co-Production There She Goes Season Two Starring David Tennant And Jessica Hynes To Premiere August 11
New York, NY – The BAFTA-winning BritBox original co-production There She Goes, is back for a second season starring David Tennant and Jessica Hynes. The series is set to premiere exclusively on BritBox, the subscription streaming service from BBC Studios & ITV offering the largest collection of streaming British television, on August 11 in North America.
Based on the real life experiences of writers Shaun Pye and Sarah Crawford, whose daughter was born with an extremely rare and, to date, undiagnosed chromosomal disorder, There She Goes follows the day to day life of a severely learning disabled girl Rosie (Miley Locke), her dad Simon (David Tennant), mom Emily (Jessica Hynes) and brother Ben (Edan Hayhurst).
“We are honored to continue to share Rosie’s journey,” said BritBox President and CEO Soumya Sriraman. “Our community wants fresh, authentic stories and working with Shaun, along with the Merman team and BBC, has been the perfect recipe to bring this one-of-a-kind program to life.”
“We are thrilled to be partnering with BritBox for a second series of There She Goes. Shaun Pye and Sarah Crawford’s authentic, relatable and moving writing has captured the hearts of so many viewers and we are delighted to be able to follow the next stage of Rosie’s story with our incredible cast,” said Clelia Mountford, Co-Founder, Merman.
Season one debuted on BritBox last year and chronicled the dual timeline of Rosie as a newborn and age nine. The current season premiered on BBC Two and is set 18 months later and will focus on Rosie at the ages of three and 11. Jessica Hynes won a BAFTA for Best Female Performance in a Comedy Program for her work in season one.
There She Goes airs on BBC Two in the UK and is produced by Merman, run by award-winning duo Clelia Mountford (Bliss) and Sharon Horgan (Catastrophe).
This expands the growing BritBox’s slate of co-productions which started in July 2017 with The Bletchley Circle: San Francisco and includes, amongst several others, The Mallorca Files, Sister Boniface, the Father Brown spinoff, and Lights Before Christmas: Luminous London and Estates Aglow as well as the upcoming Pembrokeshire Murders, starring Luke Evans and Honour starring Keeley Hawes.
