Bluey expands its presence in Brazil with new products and a focus on immersive experiences

The global hit strengthens the success of the animated series with new ways for fans to engage with their favorite characters

São Paulo, February 13, 2025 – Since its debut in Australia in 2018, the animated series Bluey, produced by Ludo Studio and distributed by BBC Studios, has achieved massive success worldwide. In Brazil, Bluey has become a widely recognized series for portraying the everyday lives of real families while celebrating the importance of play.

In addition to captivating both parents and children, the series has earned significant awards including a 2024 Peabody Award, the BAFTA Children & Young People Award, and an International Emmy®. Available in over 140 countries, “Bluey” was the No.1 most-watched streaming title of 2024 in the U.S., with 55.6 billion minutes watched.*  In Brazil, the series airs on Disney+, TV Cultura, and digital platforms, building greater awareness through licensed products and events that bring fans closer to the world of the character and her family.

Bluey film in cinemas in 2027 and LEGO Bluey products launch this year

BBC Studios and The Walt Disney Company announced at the end of last year the first-ever animated feature film for Bluey. This sees Disney acquiring the global theatrical rights for the film, which will land in cinemas in 2027 under the Disney banner. Following the global theatrical release, it will stream on Disney+. Plus, Bluey will join Disneyland Resort in California and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida on land and Disney Cruise Line at sea. The announcements came as part of an expansion of The Walt Disney Company’s global relationship with BBC Studios for Bluey.

BBC Studios started 2025 with more big Bluey news. The LEGO Group and BBC Studios announced a new partnership merging the globally adored world of Bluey with the fun and creative possibilities of the LEGO® universe for the first time ever. Six new LEGO Bluey products within the LEGO 4+ and LEGO DUPLO® product lines will be revealed this spring, before launching at retail later this year.

Bluey’s first-class partners in Brazil

With an eye on the brand’s continuous growth in Brazil, BBC Studios aims to collaborate and innovate with an increasing number of first-class companies to offer high-quality and creative products inspired by the series.

“Brazil has played a central role in our expansion strategy and has proven to be a country with highly engaged fans. We want to partner with companies that share BBC Studios’ values and help us bring Bluey’s essence, fun, and creativity to an ever-growing audience,” says Murilo Hinojosa, Vice President of Consumer Products and Commercial Partnerships for Latin America at BBC Studios. “We are creating official quality offerings for fans in Brazil while also successfully taking necessary measures to mitigate any negative impact from unlicensed and unofficial activities.”

In 2024, Bluey achieved major milestones in Brazil, including Bluey and Bingo’s first appearance at the Bienal do Livro, an expanded portfolio with current licensees, and new strategic partnerships with notable brands such as C&A Modas and Panini. Overall, the brand has agreements with 15 licensing partners in Brazil and over 450 globally.

Partners who launched Bluey-inspired products and experiences in 2024 include 2A1 (shopping mall events), C&A Modas (apparel), Panini (sticker album) and Candide (plush toys, musical toys, and electronics). These new licensees joined an already successful lineup, including Lojas Riachuelo (apparel and home), Luppa (books, collectibles, and newsstands), Jandaia (notebooks), Elka (dolls, puzzles, games, and musical instruments), Festcolor (party supplies), Editora On-Line (local publisher of Penguin Random House titles and proprietary activity books, sketchpads, and stickers), Jay Franco (bedding, bath, and home décor), Penguin Random House (books), and Xeryus (backpacks, lunch bags, and pencil cases).

For 2025, additional collaborations are expected to be announced, with launches from brands Top Cau (Easter products), Renner (clothing and accessories), DentalClean (oral clean line) and Plasútil (housewares).

Bluey immersive events in development for Brazil

The brand’s expansion in Brazil will see more announcements this year including initiatives focused on creating unique experiences for families. In 2025, projects are in development to allow fans to experience the magic of Bluey like never before, bringing them closer to the series’ Australian essence.

“We are thrilled with the positive response from the Brazilian audience. The growth of Bluey’s fan base in Brazil proves the show’s success in the country, and we aim to provide moments that connect families even more deeply with the brand through authentic and immersive experiences. Our mission is to bring Bluey’s spirit to Brazil, giving fans the feeling of living adventures just like the character and her family,” Hinojosa adds.

BBC Studios has earned acclaim in creating live entertainment for Bluey fans including last year’s opening of  Bluey’s World  in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The one-of-a-kind immersive experience features real-life sets, recognizable scenes, and beloved characters and games from the hit-show. Plus, the award-winning Bluey x CAMP immersive adventure is currently touring the U.S. and is now open in New York City.

Bluey’s growth in digital world

Bluey’s success is also reflected in the digital realm. The official Bluey Português Brasil YouTube channel (@blueyportuguesbrasil-canal) has surpassed 1 billion total views and boasts nearly 1.9 million subscribers. On Instagram (@oficialblueybrasil) and Facebook (Bluey – Português Brasil), Bluey channels offer a space for families to stay updated on news, fun facts about the series, and new launches through interactive posts and exclusive content.

Additionally, the official Bluey website in Brazil (http://Brasil.Bluey.tv) features a variety of games and activities that delight children and families, strengthening their connection to the show. Another highlight is the success of the mobile game, Bluey: Let’s Play, and the first video game that offers players a fully immersive experience, Bluey: The Videogame.

In the second half of 2024, BBC Studios launched the album Bluey: Rug Island, featuring 16 original tracks from all three seasons that evoke a space where children play, and adults embrace their inner child.

Commissioned by BBC Studios Kids & Family and ABC Children’s, Bluey is produced by the Emmy®-award-winning Ludo Studio, in association with Screen Queensland and Screen Australia.
