BBC Worldwide to Samba with RecordTV in its Debut of Dancing with the Stars in Brazil
The local version of the show – Dancing Brasil – hosted by Brazilian megastar, Xuxa premieres on primetime in April and marks the first format agreement with the leading Brazilian TV Network Rede Record
Liverpool, UK – BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm and main subsidiary of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), announced today the premiere on Brazil’s RecordTV of Dancing Brasil, the local adaptation of Dancing with the Stars, one of the British company’s most globally successful franchises. Dancing Brasil is BBC Worldwide’s first agreement of its kind with Rede Record, a major Brazilian Free-to-air TV network.
Produced by RecordTV and Endemol Shine Brazil in partnership with BBC Worldwide, and hosted by television’s super celebrity, Xuxa Meneghel. The first primetime version of the popular program in Brazil will air every Monday at 22:30 starting in April, and will feature thirteen, 90-minute episodes and a stellar cast.

The format license for Dancing with the Stars, the world’s leading dance entertainment brand, has been sold to over 50 countries and over 300 seasons of the format have aired across the globe.
Prominent celebrities join professional dancers in staging choreographies in a wide range of genres and styles, from waltzes, fox trots and the cha-cha-cha to samba, rumba and paso doble. The Brazilian version of the show will showcase the beauty, glamour and elegance of dance in a weekly spectacle judged by a panel of experts culminating in a grand finale in which the three best teams will compete R$ 500,000 in prize money and the prestigious Dancing Brasil title.
Dancing Brasil will air live from Record TV’s Rio de Janeiro studios every Monday from 22:30 to midnight starting in April. Hosted by legendary Brazilian superstar, Xuxa Meneghel, it will feature 14 couples, each made up of a famous personality and a professional dancer and is produced by General Director Rodrigo Carelli.
