BBC Worldwide Americas Sells Over 200 Hours at Third Annual BBC Showcase Syndication

New Orleans, LA – BBC Worldwide Americas, the U.S. commercial arm of the BBC, today announced the sale of over 200 hours of programming to PBS stations across the country. The deal follows BBC Worldwide’s successful BBC Showcase Syndication event, hosted annually in New Orleans. Celebrating its third year, BBC Showcase Syndication played host to 59 public television programmers from around the U.S..

With over 50,000 hours of superior, award-winning content spanning all genres, the breadth and depth of the BBC Worldwide catalog offers something for every viewer. Affiliates were given access to first and second window programming on popular BBC titles including Hustle, Ashes to Ashes, Worst Week of My Life and Black Books as well as premiere options on Outnumbered, Electric Dreams, Lark Rise to Candleford, New Tricks, The Old Guys, Priceless, Antiques Roadshow, and Waking the Dead.  Julius Cain, Vice President, PBS Sales, BBC Worldwide, America, brokered the deals.

BBC Showcase Syndication was developed from the hugely successful annual BBC Showcases in Brighton, England and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  Last year, BBC Worldwide held its first Showcase event in China.
