Miami, FL BBC Studios and Turner Latin America present the second Spanish-language adaptation of the hugely popular Love Productions format, The Great Bake Off, this time for the Chilean market. Bake Off Chile, El Gran Pastelero will be the 30th international version of the program, which has seen success in all of the countries that have adopted it. The show will air on Chilevision, one of Chile’s most popular free-to-air channels owned by Turner.

“Following the ratings success of Bake Off Argentina, El Gran Pastelero, which concluded its season with a 70.3% audience share, we are partnering again with Turner Latin America to develop the second Spanish-language edition of this popular reality show, now in Chile”, stated David Hanono, SVP of Sales and Digital, BBC Studios Latin America/US Hispanic. “This deal reinforces our strategy to bring the best British content and formats to every corner of Latin America, and we are confident that our partnership with Turner will allow us to bring more local versions of this successful format to South America.”

“We are very pleased with this agreement, and we are confident that we’ll be able to give this version of Bake Off the local flavor it needs to conquer audiences in Chile. We are sure it will attract new fans among our audience, since for Chileans, a passion for cuisine is in our cultural DNA,” comented Javier Goldschmied, Director of Programming at Chilevisión. He added: “Chilevisión continues its sustained strategy to make our primetime viewing hours, starting at 9:30 p.m., a space for family gatherings and entertainment. Bake Off Chile, El Gran Pastelero is our latest step in this direction, and it’s sure to be a household hit.”

Like other international adaptations of the format, Bake Off Chile, El Gran Pastelero will feature 18 aspiring bakers of all ages. The series will have twelve 75-minute episodes and be hosted by model and presenter Carolina de Moras. French chef Yann Ivin and pastry chefs Milena Vallejos and Gustavo Sáez will judge the contestants.
