New York, NY – Bluey, Australia’s number one children’s show, which has taken the world by storm, is set to make its free-to-air premiere in Mexico on Azteca 7 on Monday, May 17, 2021, and will air every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8:30am in their children’s programming block, Kidsiete. Multi-award winner Bluey follows a six year-old Blue Heeler dog who loves to play and turns everyday family life into extraordinary adventures.  Bluey is produced by multi-Emmy® award-winning Ludo Studio for ABC Kids Australia and co-commissioned by ABC Children’s and BBC Studios.

Aimed at pre-school children and their parents, the series champions the importance of unstructured play for enhancing children’s creativity. In addition, Bluey celebrates the joyful simplicity found in family life, role play, and imagination.

Widely acclaimed for its refreshing take on parenthood, Dad Bandit and Mum Chilli share caretaking duties whilst juggling the demands of their careers, depicting the reality of a modern, everyday family.

Bluey has already proven to be a genuine co-viewing experience, bringing the whole family together to enjoy watching the show, while delivering impactful, real messages and poignant moments for every generation.

“We’re so proud of Joe Brumm and the whole team of talented artists at Ludo Studio. They’ve all created a beautiful show with a special connection to people around the world,” said Charlie Aspinwall, Ludo Studio’s Executive Producer for Bluey.

“Everyone loves Bluey!  The infinitely relatable storylines and characters have turned the show into a global sensation. This TV Azteca partnership will bring the Azteca 7 viewers into this sweet Blue Heeler’s family – and we know Bluey will welcome them with open arms,” said Dina Vangelisti, Executive Vice President, Content Sales, BBC Studios – Americas.

Adrián Ortega, Vice President of Programming and Acquisitions at Azteca 7, added, “At Azteca 7, we are constantly searching for successful, world-class content that’s fun, entertaining, and that adds value to children in Mexico, that is why we are convinced that Bluey is a perfect fit for our strategy.”

Distributed by BBC Studios outside of Australia, Bluey is fast becoming a global hit. In the U.S., Bluey reached 16 million total views across Disney Channel and Disney Junior in Q4 2019. It also recently made its free-to-air debut in the UK on CBeebies, with episodes 1 – 10 consistently ranking as the highest-rated program of the day1.

In addition to winning over audiences worldwide, Bluey has scooped up multiple awards, such as the International Emmy® Kids Award in the prestigious Preschool category in 2020, and its second AACTA Award for Best Children’s Program that same year. The accolades continue in 2021, with Bluey winning four Kidscreen Awards in February.
