Dancing with the Stars Receives Nine Primetime Emmy Award Nominations
Leads all Non-Fiction Programming with Most Nominations
Los Angeles, CA – BBC today scored 30 nominations in the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards, including nine nominations for BBC Worldwide Productions’ Dancing with the Stars, the most of any non-fiction program. This is the fifth consecutive year that the show has received a nomination for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program. Dancing with the Stars’ host and veteran television personality, Tom Bergeron, has also been nominated in the Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program category for the third year in a row.

In addition, the following BBC co-productions were nominated:
Life – A BBC/Discovery Channel/SKAI co-production in association with RTI Spa– received six nominations, including Outstanding Nonfiction Series.
Return to Cranford – A BBC/WGBH co-production in association with Chestermead – received seven nominations, including Outstanding Miniseries and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie for Dame Judi Dench’s portrayal of Miss Matty.
Emma – A co-production of BBC Productions and WGBH Boston – received four nominations, including Outstanding Supporting Actor in A Miniseries Or A Movie for Michael Gambon’s portrayal of Mr. Woodhouse.
The following productions each received a single nomination: Capturing Mary – A talkback THAMES Production in association with the BBC and HBO Films; Hamlet – A Production of Illuminations and Royal Shakespeare Company for BBC in association with Thirteen for WNET.org and NHK; Johnny Mercer – Rhapsody Productions in association with TCM, Arena/BBC and Warner Home Video; Sergio – Silverbridge Productions and Passion Pictures in association with Screen Pass Pictures, Impact Partners, Motto Pictures, BBC Storyville and HBO Documentary Films.
