BBC Earth Canada Brings Viewers Stunning Four-Part Live Broadcast Event, Blue Planet Live

The highly-anticipated live event airs during BBC Earth’s free preview

Premieres Sunday, March 24 at 4:00 p.m. and repeats at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT

Blue Planet Live is an exciting four-part live event that explore the health of our oceans and its amazing marine life in real-time. The series premieres on Sunday, March 24 at 4:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Toronto, Canada The renowned team behind the award-winning Blue Planet series is back with a four-part live broadcast event Blue Planet Live on BBC Earth Canada. Three of BBC’s top presenters broadcast live from three different international locations to give viewers a first-hand look at the challenges marine life face today. The four-part special airs over the last week in March, beginning Sunday, March 24, day and date with BBC One’s live UK broadcast.

Live broadcast schedule:

  • Part one airs Sunday, March 24 at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT with encore presentations at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT
  • Part two airs Wednesday, March 27 at  4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT with encore presentations at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT
  • Part three airs Thursday, March 28 at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT with encore presentations at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT
  • Part four airs Sunday, March 31 at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT with encore presentations at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT

Hosted by BBC presenters, Steve Backshall, Chris Packham and Liz Bonnin, the special will broadcasting live from three different locations, including the East Coast, USA, the Bahamas, and Australia’s Great Barrier Reef to bring audiences closer than ever to the health of our fragile oceans. Across the four episodes, the hosts will be up close with many of the exciting marine animals that breed and feed at this time of year, bringing the audience closer than ever before to different species of turtles, sharks, whales and much more. Additionally, the series explores the last oceanic frontier that is ‘The Deep’ live for the first time on television – the beating heart of our planet.
