As Vice President, Content Sales & Co-Productions, Sandra Murphy oversees the BBC Studios’ Canada and Latin American content sales teams. In this role, she is responsible for the distribution of catalog and front list content to linear, digital and emerging platforms, exploring coproduction and partnership opportunities, developing business strategies and growth plans, and implementing successful branded services.
With over two decades of experience with BBC Studios, Sandra has held a number of roles including nine years with the Motion Gallery, managing the licensing of content to TV and film producers, and a year in New York as Vice President, Content Sales & Co-Productions, where she was responsible for identifying opportunities for BBC Studios content in the US market and working with in-house and indie producers packaging and pitching programmes for co-production. Sandra was instrumental in negotiating and overseeing the successful launch of several branded channels including the launches of BBC Earth and BBC First in Canada.
Before joining BBC Studios, Sandra worked in various Toronto production companies and freelance positions producing corporate videos for a variety of industries. She also spent several years working in communication & media skills training, presentation skills coaching, crisis communications and strategic communications counsel.
Sandra Murphy has a degree in Audio Visual & Multimedia Communications. She lives with her family in Toronto.
