As Senior Vice President, Communications, Global Media & Streaming, Rosemary Mercedes oversees BBC Studios’ communications strategy in North America and Latin America. With teams in New York and Los Angeles, Mercedes is responsible for initiatives across a range of businesses, including content sales, licensing, direct-to-consumer ventures, and the Los Angeles Production arm, and for growing the profile of BBC Studios and its key brands in the region, such as Bluey, Doctor Who, Dancing with the Stars, and its world-renowned natural history content.

Prior to joining BBC Studios, Mercedes most recently served as Univision’s Executive Vice President & Chief Communications Officer. She was instrumental in raising the profile of the Company and played an integral role in some of Univision’s most successful communications and awareness campaigns in the last decade. Mercedes also led the company’s first-ever DE&I taskforce, in partnership with the CHRO, where she laid the foundation for Univision’s efforts to better reflect and serve its multicultural consumers.

A purpose-driven communications executive and diversity champion with 20+ years of experience in media, higher education, and non-profit, Mercedes has received numerous industry recognitions. She was acknowledged among the Rising Communications Leaders in North America by The Holmes Report, recognized among the Top Women in PR by PR News, and named Pioneer of the Year by the HPRA (Hispanic Public Relations Association). She was featured in Diverse Voices: Profiles in Leadership, a book published by the PRSA Foundation that features interviews with more than 40 diverse leaders who have risen to the very top of the communications field.

Mercedes earned a Master of Arts in Corporate & Public Communications from Seton Hall University, where she currently mentors undergraduates through the Communication Honors Associates Mentoring Program. She is fluent in Spanish and conversational in French, and lives in New Jersey with her two daughters.
